| Nino Saakashvili is a founder and executive
director of the Horizonti Foundation.
During the past ten years she has been taking an active
part in establishment and development of non-governmental
organizations as well as in the formation of the civil society
in Georgia.
Under her direction, the Horizonti Foundation initiated
creation and development of non-governmental and community-based
organizations, establishment of cross-sector partnership,
implementation of networking activities, advocacy campaigns,
monitoring, evaluation, advocacy as well as conduction of
trainings on management issues in Georgia.
Nino Saakashvili initiated and developed the first group
of evaluators and organizational management trainers in
Georgia. During years led (and still leading) evaluation
and introductory organizational management training sessions
and individual consulting for Georgian and International
NGOs both inside and outside of the country on management,
program evaluation, strategic planning, structure development,
effective presentations, NGO-Media, NGO-Government, NGO-Business
Sector relations, financial management, fundraising, advocacy
etc. Among them: UNHCR, World Learning, USAID, Red Cross
Georgia, Red Cross Azerbaijan, USA Department of State,
Save the Children, Azerbaijani, DANISH Government, Charity
Know How Fund, IRC, IREX, Canadian Feed the Children, NRC,
World Bank, Eurasia Foundation and etc.
Nino Saakashvili maintains an effective relations with
the entire NGO sector representatives, various national
and international partners, national government and business
representatives in the country and internationally.
Saakashvili regularly organizes and participates in various
national and international conferences and workshops, meetings
as a speaker, panelist, facilitator, and group chair as
an expert on foundations, NGOs, NGO-Government partnership,
evaluation, coalition building, advocacy, NGO management
and other issues around the world.
Saakashvili is a member of different international networks
and organizations. She is a Chairman of the Board of ORPHEUS,
Network of Civil Society Organizations of Central and Eastern
European Countries and NIS. Governing Board Member of IOCE-
International Organization for Cooperation in Evaluation
(World wide organization of Evaluation Associations), Member
of Editorial Board of IPEN- International Program Evaluation
Network (NIS Countries), Member of The International Fellows
Program Network and Member of Editorial Board of The Johns
Hopkins University, philanthropy Fellows Journal, Member
of European Foundation Center, Member of American Evaluation
Association. She is an author and editor of different books,
articles, papers. |
