Current membership: 156 members (Research firms, international organizations, Government organizations, NGOs, Universities and academics, media and free lance evaluators).
 
4. Purpose of group
The purpose of EARNE is to enhance the effectiveness, impact and sustainability of development in Egypt by supporting quality evaluation, enhancing R&E capacities, advancing generation and dissemination of knowledge, and advocating for evidence based programmes and policies.
 
5. Current strategy and emphasis
  1. Dialogue stimulation amongst people concerned with professionalization and utilization of evaluation for development effectiveness.
2. R&E Capacity Development with special emphasis on mid-level professionals, governmental officials, NGOs, media and younger researchers.
3. Knowledge generation and dissemination on issues related to monitoring, research and evaluation.
4. Advocating for evidence based policy making and bridging the gap between researchers and policy makers.
 
6. Means of communication with members, e.g. newsletter, listserv, publication

For the present time: electronic communication, seminars and specialized groups.

Planned: quarterly newsletter/ publication
